JAROSLAV KOČA BRIDGE FUND
Promoting Interdisciplinary Research
The JAROSLAV KOČA BRIDGE FUND is a dedicated fund aimed at CEITEC PhD candidates, designed to foster interdisciplinary projects between Life Sciences and Material Science at CEITEC.
Proposed projects must focus on interdisciplinary research between two Research Programs - one in Life Sciences (Structural Biology, Genomics and Proteomics of Plant Systems, Molecular Medicine, Brain and Mind Research, or Molecular Veterinary Medicine Research Program) and one in Materials Science (Advanced Nano- and Microtechnologies or Advanced Materials Research Program). This involves PhD candidates spending time in both laboratories.
Update: Newly, two doctoral candidates from different scientific programs can submit one joint project and collaborate on its execution from grant submission to the final report.
PhD candidates whose projects are accepted will receive a stipend of 10,000 CZK per month and a lump sum of 50,000 CZK for consumables per year. In the case of a joint project, each PhD candidate will receive a stipend of 5,000 CZK per month.
The stipend is awarded for a duration of one year. Afterward, the PhD candidate can reapply in the next call (explaining why their project warrants funding for an additional year).
The Jaroslav Koča Bridge Fund will not only assist you in addressing research questions but also in developing competencies in grant writing, time management, presentation, networking, and other essential skills for a scientific career.
