Project criteria

Eligibility:

A PhD student supervised by CEITEC Supervisor (Research Group Leader or PI).

*A PhD student who is by the time of sending the application in his/her last year of the study is not eligible for support.

Criteria of a project:

  • A project must be interdisciplinary and must be conducted by two different CEITEC Research Groups (the Supervisor and the Project Partner) from two different CEITEC Research Programmes, one in Life Sciences (Structural Biology, Genomics and Proteomics of Plant Systems, Molecular Medicine, Brain and Mind Research or Molecular Veterinary Medicine Research Programme) and one in Materials Science (Advanced Nano- and Microtechnologies or Advanced Materials Research Programme). A project can be submitted by two students as a team if they meet all other criteria and their supervisors agree with the project application.

Funding per student:

50 000 CZK lump sum for consumables per year
10 000 CZK per month to personal cost (stipend to the student) or 5000 CZK per month to personal cost in case of the joint project (stipend to both students received the joint project)

Selection criteria:

  • The project will be focused on interdisciplinary research between two Research Programmes (one in Life Sciences and one in Materials Science), the student will spend time in both laboratories. In the project proposal, the student will explain why it is necessary to use both laboratories to conduct the research.
  • Scientific quality of the project.

Project duration:

The Interdisciplinarity Committee assigns stipend for the time duration of one year (September – August). Then the student can apply in the next call (with the explanation of why his/her project should be funded for one more year).
